Our indicator cards are available in versatile configurations, including 3-spot, 4-spot, and 6-spot layouts (covering ranges such as 5%-60% RH), allowing you to precisely match the moisture sensitivity requirements of different components. The humidity indicator spots undergo a distinct color change from blue (indicating dry conditions) to pink (indicating humid conditions) as the relative humidity changes. This provides an intuitive, highly responsive visual inspection method, eliminating the need for expensive testing instruments while keeping quality control costs low. The current relative humidity is represented by a lavender color on the indicator spots. These spots will change within eight hours of exposure to a fluctuation in relative humidity. It is important to note that the humidity indicator spots are reversible, meaning that pink spots will revert back to blue when the air volume is dried. In case the spots turn pink or lavender, they can be restored to blue by placing them in a sealed container along with one unit (33 grams) of desiccant for a period of 48 hours. Before using the humidity indicator card, ensure that the highest indicator spot is blue, indicating the lowest humidity level. For optimal accuracy, it is recommended to use the humidity indicator card at a temperature of 73°F (23°C). Avoid direct contact with the indicator spots and rinse any irritated areas with clean water if contact occurs.
To guarantee long-term effectiveness during transit and warehousing, these cards are delivered in high-sealing vacuum moisture-proof packaging, typically housed in secure tin cans or robust aluminum foil bags. When storing the humidity indicators, it is advisable to keep them in their original container, sealed if possible, along with a desiccant. The metallic seal of the tin cans provides an excellent barrier against ambient moisture. After the container has been opened three times, it is recommended to replace the desiccant to maintain the internal microclimate. Store the indicators in a cool and dry area, away from any water or steam. Additionally, ensure that the indicators are kept away from ammonia gases, as exposure to such gases can render the indicators ineffective. Proper handling ensures that the chemical sensitivity of the spots remains perfectly calibrated for your next application.
